Briagolong Primary School was established in 1875 when the town of Briagolong came into being.
Our school has shown a steady pattern of growth over the recent past, with student enrollment figures increasing significantly. The school’s facilities have also been upgraded in the past few years with the addition of three new classrooms, a library and office areas. New playground equipment and the redevelopment of the amphitheater has ensured the school’s facilities are maintained to a high satandard.
The staffing profile combines a range of experienced teachers with some graduates and accomplished teachers. The school’s succession plan has resulted in the employment of younger teachers at the school whilst still maintaining a good experience balance. The school also employs four education support staff to assist children with additional needs.
The school’s reputation is continuing to grow with more local students enrolled, as well as students from outside of the immediate catchment area transitioning to our school.
Community involvement has grown over the past three years, with the school linking to specific groups and the wider community in general through activities organised by the school.
Our curriculum follows Aus Vels (The Australian Curriculum in Victoria), with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy.
